About Raquel & Adam

“Our lives have been distantly intertwined since the early nineties. We grew up in the same neighborhood, went to the same schools, + both preferred our backyard pools to anywhere else.  My first memories of Adam are from what feels like a lifetime ago. I wrote him off as the 'know it all' kid who I stayed away from on the school bus and he looked at me as the cute girl with the big blue eyes. Flash forward thirty years and you'll forever find this wide eyed girl sitting next to him, intently listening to his extremely brainy explanations of the world around us.

We’ve officially been together for almost 6 years. We were engaged for almost 2 years and married for almost 2 months! 

My parents recently moved to Florida full time. Knowing how close I am with my family Adam wanted them to be included somehow in his proposal. We spent New Years’ 2021 at their new house with all of my close family and a few of his family members. It was the 2nd of January and we were all coming off the New Year’s high - hanging in the pool, relaxing - when Adam stood up and started what I thought was a toast but was actually his proposal to me. It was so thoughtful and sweet but incredibly relaxed with all our favorite people around. The best part about it was that he and I quote his words here, “waited for the first day after that god forsaken year of 2020 that wasn’t a holiday.” He knew I wasn’t interested in sharing one of our special days with a holiday.”
